Easter Extravaganza

Our Easter...hit the day after Cameron & Kate's #4 reception. And luckily we planned way in advance and pulled off an Easter Extravaganza...and it lived up to the title!

I should probably feel guilty, because moms are supposed to have the holidays revolve around the kids, but this year...it really revolved around us BIG kids at heart. But is was one of the best Easters ever.

We started the morning with the traditional indoor egg hunt and hidden baskets.
Thank heaven for 11 o'clock church!
Landon went to town collecting eggs and after a slight distraction with a saxophone Mason caught on fast.
Then after church began the real party.
Since I'm the only one with children and all the guests coming are too big for a traditional egg hunt, we took it to a whole new fun level.
Long hours of planning on Grandma & Grandpa's part...and a whole lot of prep on Grandma and my part and it all pulled off.  After stuffing 500 eggs and marking them with their designated numbers and symbols, we had an Egg Hunt/Phase Ten Game.  Including "rotten eggs", hidden tricks and challenges to complete, and some golden eggs. Plus 500 eggs is pretty hard to hide so we went from backyard, to front yard, to the basement and in-between.  And it was a blast!

There was a little cheating, as was to be expected, but overall it was a blast.

Then we added some "Minute to Win It" challenges, because the "gift card" prizes couldn't fit in the eggs. So we had some "friendly competition" for all of them.  And it was hysterical, I just wish I had video taped the whole thing.
Then when we couldn't be more hungry...we sat down for Easter Dinner.  Which in the hustle of getting the food on the table, I some how missed taking any pictures of it all.  But overall the whole night was a blast and a great success.
